An officer-involved shooting closed traffic Friday night on the Las Vegas Strip near the Bellagio, Metro Police said.

Lt. Ken Romaine said police responded to reports of a person with a gun around 7:30 p.m.. He did not disclose what led to the shooting but said no officers were injured in the incident.

Police did not say whether anyone is in custody or if any injuries were sustained in the shooting, but a Twitter user posted a photo that shows Metro officers tending to a possible gunshot victim.

Edward Mehring, who identified himself as homeless, said he was on the pedestrian walkway between Bellagio and Bally's when he saw an altercation break out in front of the Bellagio fountains. He said he then heard two gunshots.

A Twitter user shared video that captures apparent gunshots during the fountain show at Bellagio.

Traffic was shut down on Las Vegas Boulevard in both directions between Flamingo Road and Paris Drive, according to a Regional Transportation Commission alert. A witness said pedestrian overpasses in the area were also shut down.
